Banchory Walking to Health Groups

Record Number: 6483

Banchory Walking to Health Groups provide a programme of short walks on a weekly basis to enable people to enjoy some gentle exercise in a friendly group.

There are three weekly walks, all starting from Banchory East Church, Station Road, Banchory AB31 5YP:
Mon: 7.00pm-8.00pm (summer only)
Thu: 10.00am-11.00am
Fri: 10.00am-11.00am

A health walk is a purposeful walk undertaken on a regular basis to improve health.

A health walk:

  • is led by a trained volunteer (and the route has been risk assessed)
  • is less than an hour long
  • has a short warm up at the start, followed by a brisk walk and then a short cool down at the end
  • welcomes new walkers who would benefit from being more active

Health walks are targeted at inactive people who would benefit most from doing more physical activity, such as older people or those with long term conditions.
